I've been asked for an "update".
Well, I really don't have any good news.
It's a power struggle with my provider, they say "Upgrade" I say "No!".
Craftpals is a hobby website and not that many people want to pay for a hobby site.
However, Craftpals uses as much server resources as a full blown business website and therefore has to pay as such. You know how it is.
So, I've to depend on me and what I can pay.
Close to $200 a month and maybe more next year, it's too much for me right now. I did it for over four years already. Paid that and more because my package comes from US and it's paid in US dollars and I'm Canadian.
I'll come up with something. It's going to be more work for me but I've to get the bill under $100 a month.
Start saving your pennies. Thank you everyone!

I just found out why I can't install the forums databases.
I was told that I need to upgrade my server package and the bill is ten times more than I want to pay.
I just left a "root server" because I wanted a break from the big bills.
So, now I have some planning to do. Please let me know if you're intending to join us in the near future.
It makes my decision a lot easier knowing that I'll have help paying the bills before I put my money down. Thank you!
If you really want to participate but can't afford my price, please send me an email. Someone is always willing to pay for someone else as long as they know the new member will participate.

October 24, 2008 Update
Hi everyone;
I've answered these questions already but I'll post them here as well.
  1. The price for Craftpals.org?

    • The membership is $30 a year.

  2. When will Craftpals.org be open?

    • I'm trying to get it going by Christmas 2008 but the forums are not cooperating.
Keep on crafting and take lots of pictures. Thanks!

Welcome back!
I'll keep you posted on what I'm doing with Craftpals.org on this page.

At the moment I'm rewriting the whole site to get rid of Microsoft's Security Certificate since it used to be free but it's not free anymore.

We'll also be getting new boards. Our current forums are already four years old and it's starting to complain about Windows Vista.

The forums have to be split up this year as well.
The databases are getting so large that they're timing out when I try to download them. So, I think we'll have one database just for chatter, one database just for crafts and one for computer help and digitals etc.
The forum features that we love like; birthday reminders, spellcheck and uploading images from our hard drive, will all be installed on the new forums including our old posts. I think last year we did over 50,000 posts. :)
One thing that I can't do, that we had before, is install "Moby Threads".

Some of the free stuff that was at Craftpals.org, will also be moved to Craftpals.com. to give us more room.
These are my plans.
Start saving your monies to join us. I'm giving you lots of time. :)

Thanks everyone!
